I am a slack blogger! What can I say. Today is The Missus and I's second anniversary. 2 years and one baby on we are still as strong as ever. Big cards abound this morning. I'm just off to pick up a large bunch of fleurs and later we'll be off for a slap up meal at a new local restaurant. (Will report back on that one soon!) The other exciting thing is that I managed to complete my PC rebuild and make it dual boot with Win 2000 and SuSE Linux. All this new fangled stuff to learn. It looks cool though, will obviously report back on that one too!

Everyone is moving back to the old office and I get to stay here! Well it's either that or join the management team, and who really wants to join the management team!! I'm going upstairs with the support guys, can't be all bad. Tried to persuade my boss to get me an assistant to ease my workload and allow me to develop the project further, I think he went for it but I suppose I'll have to wait and see. I hope he comes through on this one. At last a team! Apart from that it's all quiet on the western front, Hannah has rolled over a few times and is well on the way to full mobility (!?) She kept me up most of last night so I'm totally knackered, maybe I deserve an early night. Who knows!

Ansel Adams at 100 is on at the Hayward Gallery. A true hero of mine and a fantastic creator of the image. His work introduced me to the phrase 'to create and image' as opposed to 'taking a photo'. I'll visit this exhibition then harp on about it for ages!

Today is mega strike day, Hurrah!! Makes me happy I don't use the Underground. Having said that I got the slow train today because there was mysterious overhead power line faults in my area. Strange how this always happens on a strike day. So all the fast trains are cancelled and everyone is trying desperately trying to pack themselves onto the slow train, and the further we go on our journey the more people are trying to squeeze themselves on. I'm surprised there wasn't a fight to be honest! Luckily I had a seat. Since the last time I wrote I have advanced in years, well one to be precise. I am now the grand old age of 31 which didn't stop me being the lucky recipient of some good quality toys for my birthday. Firstly the Gameboy Advance is the coolest present from the missus and my already net savvy daughter. Unbelievably my folks bought a joint cool present for the missus and I, a top notch digital camera! All this on top of finally getting a decent TV. Altogether a mega techno week!! I still haven't had enough time to play with everything yet though!

Deary deary me, it's been a while, I must have been working too hard. I'm in the process of moving my Intranet to a more sensible location and many other projects besides so this poor blog has taken a back seat!! It's probably something to do with my advancing years you see as I'll be creeping further into my thirties later this week. Scary! Anyhow, I went to an excellent restaurant with the Missus last week, Tartuf in Islington! All you can eat french pizza. So much food so little time, there are savouries and sweets and it's an excellent laugh too although we did get a bit full up. We let the food go down afterward watching a good film, Scooby-Doo! All this time our little girl stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house which let us have a well earned lay in the next day, hurrah!

The problems at the actor site have been solved! The blog over there is back on track. I've racked my brains and scoured the code until I saw the error of its ways! Hurrah, I can now go to bed and get some kip before the Ireland game tomorrow and the England game on Friday..........c'mon England!

Blogging is so popular that my daughter has one herself!

Grrrr, a bit frustrated, so much to do, little time. I like my job don't get me wrong, but do you ever get the feeling that you have so much 'bread and butter' stuff to do that takes up all of your time you never get around to doing the development and interesting stuff. And what makes it worse is that I'm reading the Cluetrain Manifesto and the more I read it the more ideas I get, the more I realise there are things fundamentally wrong with the way we all work and the more frustrated I get with what we're doing here. Oh well perhaps I should steer clear of the books and find a little time for some underhanded subversion! But all will be fine because I'm seeing Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones tonight...Hurrah!

I'm proud to announce that Marcus has take my advice and launched two blogs that will eventually feature in his website. The first blog is his online journal and the other one is his forthcoming gigs. Just seen a typo in the other days blog so I'd better fix it!

Blogging from home in the middle of the night, does that mean I'm a proper Blogger!! Attempted working from home again for the first time since last weeks disasterous network incident in which my PC nearly ended up flat and spead over a large area of Holborn under a bus. Seemed to be working fine then the whole thing went arse up. I don't understand how it can be so dificult to keep this thing up and running. Oh well it gave me a few precious minutes playing with my baby daughter, just means I'm up like a pillock in the middle of the night working and blogging, not sure I'm meant to be doing the latter though so I'd better sign off!

Well it's May Day here in Londons 'West End' and there is not a crusty in sight! I was looking forward to a bit of critical mass, reclaim the streets, a good natured May Day party in Oxford Circus but no! Perhaps the police (small p!) have stamped all the good nature out of these people. They are the ones who fight for our freedom because on the most part, we can't be bothered. It's the local elections tomorrow so, I'll be out first thing to cast my vote. I can't beleive that with all the uproar over the election in France that people here are still so apathetic about voting, they'll be the first to complain when some right wing looney becomes their local MP! I've been waiting over a week now to have my desk fixed, all it takes is a little bit of glue, I might do it myself if no one comes up to mend it! Oh I'm a bit of a winge pants today, probably mostly to do with a lack of sleep, must correct that by having a really early night tonight. Hmmmm!

Right, I've given up with Morpheus, can't get the bloody thing working. So I've installed Audiogalaxy along with the adware thingy that gets rid oif the spyware. Watch out kids they are watching your every move!!! So now I can get some tunes to listen to during the day. It's a disaster cos echo.com has shut down too and Audiogalaxy is as slow and a really slow thing on a slow day. Oh well something better will turn up too!

Here I am at the begining of the second week in the new office. Its not that bad really although we aren't getting mail and it's a little walk from the rest of our dept, but not to worry it's just a little bit more excercise to be had! Better keep it short and knuckle down to work as I have lots to do this week.

Finally arrived at the new office, took me nearly two hours to unpack two boxes and get the stuff into and onto my new desk. It's a bit weird not at all like where we were before but it's only up the road so it's not a million miles away! So as expected there are no working phones here and we have no idea where the mail goes to but I'm sure we'll figure it out by then end of the day. Ho hum.....

I've packed up my boxes and I'm ready to go. Some poor sod is going to have to carry them to the new office over the weekend, so not to worry! Following the Chris Locke thing I'm all ready to introduce weblogs to my mates and message boards to my Intranet here at work. I've already extolled the virtues of blogging to one of my friends who is an actor. I think it would be an excellent forum for him to blather on about things in his own inimitable style. His writing really is funny and would be a good catalyst to attract hits to his site. As for me well I'm just tired from looking after my baby daughter. I wouldn't mind but my Wife looks after her all day and she manages to look as fresh as a daisy where as my eyes look like two 'black holes in the sky'! Tomorrow I'm off with the rest of my team to some R&D facility in the middle of nowhere full of mad boffins (so I'm told), it should be cool but I've got to get up really early...YIKES!

Hey now! It's all looking lovely like the other bit of my site. Shoddy I know but hey I like it and no one else probably looks at it. That template was pretty easy to manipulate, refreshing my rusty HTML skills! well.....here we go again.....

OK I've been gone for a while, but I'm back now. Inspired to return by the great Chirs Locke who came to talk to us at work. Absolutely fantastic this guy talks alot of sense. If they wanna fix things and make them work better they should be asking us. I'm gonna get my head around blogging properly so I can take some of this knowledge and use it building our dept Intranet. Management need to know what goes on around here and if we can use a tool like this to facilitate that then we are going to be moving in the right direction. So hopefully I'll be filling this blog out on the future and see where we go from here. Oh and surprisingly I'm moving desks again, only been in this one for eight months now and to be honest I'm getting itchy feet!!

this is good, I've discovered a new approach for my project that is kinda like blogger. Well the proposal in nearing completion and then it gets handed in and hopefully accepted then we can get to the more fun task of building the site. That will make me happier!

oh I haven't been here for ages and some one just asked me about blogger so i thought i'd blog some more, Project isn't half as daunting as it was before but there is soo much to do an so little time. (whats new!!) I'm still at the new desk but the people around me are moving! I'd better get on specing out this blogger tool for our intranet so i can do this sort of thing and people will actually use it!!! later
